Every Other Day Do!

Wow! What a hiatus! But I'm back and hopefully I can get on track with posting more often! For now here are some pictures of one of our 'every other day' dos!
I just take a comb/brush and swoop some hair to the side the secure it with a clip. She takes it out about 500 times a day, but it's easy to just use my hand and swoop it back into place. I usually don't even part it.. Just SWOOP.

Daddy was making her laugh and all of a sudden she had to be so dramatic and cover her mouth lol.

My first Crochet Headband w/a Bow

I got really bored last night and decided I would make a crochet bow and headband (now I"m a BEGINNER at this so it's not the best). I followed a pattern I had copied from online a while back for the bow (not sure what the site is), but it was REALLY big so I tried again and made a smaller one.

Ignore the crap in the background that you probably wouldn't have noticed had I not brought attention to it.. oh well..

The back is just tied off. I made it longer so it can fit when she's older. It even fit on my head!

Looking at this I need to tighten the middle around the smaller one.

TK wanted me to take a picture of his hand to post on here? Silly kid..

Knotty Hair Headband

Today I wanted to do try a hair headband on Khari. I don't know how to cornrow so I did four pull-throughs (or knots whatever you want to call them). I guess you could do the pull-throughs then connect them, but the way I did it I think it allowed for the pull-throughs to show better. (I tried the other way first, but I think this looks cuter.) I made the first part on the right side of her head then did a pull-through ponytail. I took the hair from that part and added it to the next section BEFORE I did the pull-through ponytail and repeated that process for the last two sections. I wanted to leave her bangs out because I thought it would look a little funky to include that front part in the headband as her front hairline is so thin, but they are longer than I thought and it looked even weirder out as they are so curly so I just attached them to the last part and attemted to clip them out of the way. (I'm sure this clip will be long gone by the time I get off work!) As you can see I'm not the best parter in the world and it's not getting any easier as she gets older because she fidgets even more! The highchair/food trick isn't really working anymore. I think the next time I do this I won't make the parts so long (going towards the back).

Monkey See, Monkey Do! GoldilocksnMe (Sidewinders)

I saw this 3 braid style done using sidewinders over at Goldilocks*n*Me, but hey I don't have any so I improvised. Like the mother over the there (not sure if she wants her name or initial shared as I couldn't find it on her blog) I did the 3 braids then connected them at the ends. I just used a clip to hold them down and I left Khari's hair out in a Wash N Go instead of a braid like she did. So... Ta-Da...

Hair Carnival: Halloween!!!

My son wanted to be an elephant for Halloween this year. We went to the circus so I got this bright idea to be a circus family. I would be the ringmaster, TK the elephant, Khari a clown (I originally wanted to do this when she was a bit older), and Dev would be the strong man. In the end I never ended up making my costume so I just went as the over tired mother haha. I didn't do anything special to Khari's hair other than spraying it purple and glittery and clip the hat I made to her hair.

The back

Without the cheeks

I did not like this wig. It was HORRIBLE.

Monkey See, Monkey Do! GoldilocksnMe (A Little Bit of this)

There aren't very many toddler blog styles for me to copy so I figured I would take a style from my favorite hair blog and modify it to fit my teeny tiny baby head of hair. I saw this style on Goldilocks*n*Me and I copied the top half.

The top
I made two sections instead of three and I took all the hair from the right side of her hair instead of just the middle because I thought it looked better on her short hair. I did two ponytails then connected them as Khari is a mover and a shaker and wouldn't sit still (hence the not so straight parts and not so slilck hair). I twisted the first ponytail before I connected it. I was going to twist or braid the second one as well, but it just curled right up so I took it out and just added a clip so I would lay a bit flatter.

The back
I just left the back out in a 'wash' and go. I thought it looked pretty cute and I can't wait until Khari's hair gets long enough to add the slide braid to this style!
